Uncover the prescription for good business health

Welcome to the first edition of the MyCorporateDoctor enewsletter. The Cure is our way of providing additional, ongoing support to subscribers and potential subscribers of our Financial Diagnostics Reports and Corporate Doctor services. In a world of too much information, we aim to cut to the chase and pinpoint the local economy's key signals.

We'll work to show you more creative ways to avoid the pitfalls of the current economy, put in place better practices and grow your business - no matter what's happening out there in the marketplace.

Don't expect "more of the same" that you'd read elsewhere because our insights often run counter to the current, conventional wisdom. Which could be a bonus for you - because experience proves that our methods produce positive financial results for our clients, time and time again.

'tis the time for having an eye to the future...

stocking05 (4K)Whether your business slows down or speeds up for Christmas, we hope you'll find enough time to benefit from MyCorporateDoctor's version of the Christmas stocking. Check out the list of "information pressies" below that are designed to give you hard-to-find economic data, offer food for thought and prepare you more effectively for 2010. The links to the information all take you to relevant parts of the MyCorporateDoctor.com website:

  • We have created our own economic monitor. The MyCorporateDoctor.com Economic Spot-check doesn't aim to compete with more sophisticated measures of leading indicators. We just want to catch the direction of the economy. This is achieved by classifying a mix of statistics, comments and news items from "still in real trouble" (rated one) to "rapid recovery" (rated five).
  • November economic summary - a number of Australian real estate and economic graphs
  • Videos of the Year - a medley of videos we have selected showing what you might not have learned from the mainstream media. Here are some less conventional views about life, the universe and many things financial. The content goes from sobering to humorous - and back again.
  • China Watch - You may be surprised and even upset to find that our assessments of the Middle Kingdom are not encouraging. But we believe this information is a timely warning not to view China simply as the Fairy Godmother who will rescue us from the Global Financial Crisis - or whatever else happens to the global economy in the near future.
  • MyCorporateDoctor.com's Financial Diagnostic Reports are so powerful they might sound like they're only for the Big End of Town. However, the FDR service is just as effective for our region's small and medium companies. Download the report.

...as well as looking after your mates...

Have you been wondering what is the best way to reward a valued client, or offer a gift to a long-time supplier or business friend? We have a great suggestion that won't cost you (or them) a cent. Your colleague can experience the power of the MyCorporateDoctor.com financial management consultancy for themselves. It's as easy as going to our website and following the prompts to receive a no-charge Financial Health Assessment.

Another way MyCorporateDoctor can help your colleagues, in these days of continued credit squeeze, is by assisting them to identify their ability to meet the banks' "hidden criteria" for commercial finance applications. Ask them to give us a call on 4632 6631.

And if you are not yet a MyCorporateDoctor client and would like to sample the value of our service, by all means be our guest and sign up for a free Financial Health Assessment for your own business.

...and we even include ourselves in that

Contra deals and doing "good turns" are part of business culture - after all, in the end everything depends on relationships and sometimes it isn't appropriate to raise an invoice. But non-financial benefits such as a referral, technical help or brainstorming, may be just as valuable.

pinkbow (14K)Here are a few ideas that we have suggested to the recipients of our services who want to thank us for our time:

  1. An endorsement letter that we can use in our promotional material, this will cost you nothing more than a few moments of your time.
  2. A recommendation on the LinkedIn networking tool.
  3. Provide feedback on a business rating site like TRUE LOCAL.
  4. A hyperlink to MyCorporateDoctor.com on your website, or a mention in your blog or Twitter.
  5. Ask for a small bundle of our business cards and hand them out to anyone you know who may be able to use our services.
  6. If you have a notice board, newsletter or distribution list, we could provide you with some appropriate advertising material.

If someone helps your business, may we suggest using these ideas as a way to say thank-you. Or maybe other alternatives for contra deals have worked for you?
